Believe

Sometimes we need to ‘get back to basics’ – to be reminded of what, or who, lies at the very centre of the Christian faith. Here, in this encounter with the God who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we discover whose we are. From that starting point, we find our lives of faith unfolding to encompass all we do. And, because God himself is involved at every step, our faith holds the power to shape who we are becoming – as we grow in Christlikeness, bearing the fruit of God’s own Spirit. This is the journey we will be taking this year. Please join us as we walk together through a series called Believe – exploring key beliefs, practices, and virtues of the Christian faith – and grow to live the story of the bible to become like Jesus.

BELIEVE: Compassion

Sometimes we need to ‘get back to the basics’ – to be reminded of who and whose we are. All of this year we will be doing just that – fixing our faith on the God who has made us his own, through Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit, and exploring what our lives in Him entail. Join us on this journey to BELIEVE.

This week, Jonathan Slywka leads us to consider that to be human is to be both the object of God’s compassion – for God so loved – and someone who shows compassion to others – we love because he first loved us.
