TRUST IN THE LORD: Trust is a Decision

Extending from our Advent series, we spent three weeks further exploring facets of TRUST, this key reality yet challenging road to all who choose to follow the Lord.

Today: TRUST IS A DECISION

SIMPLE SYMBOLS: Bread

One of the most valuable ways to teach new truth is to link it to old truth. If you can relate something I DON’T know to something I DO know, I have a chance to learn. God knows this. And God is a wonderful teacher. Perhaps this is why Scripture is filled with common items being used to illustrate profound truth. This series will highlight some of the Bible’s great metaphors, considering what God wants us to discover about Him, about ourselves, and about His Kingdom.

TODAY’S LESSON: Bread

BELIEVE: Hope

Sometimes we need to ‘get back to the basics’ – to be reminded of who and whose we are. All of this year we will be doing just that – fixing our faith on the God who has made us his own, through Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit, and exploring what our lives in Him entail. Join us on this journey to BELIEVE.

BELIEVE: Love

Turning now to key Christian virtues – those ‘fruit’ of God’s own Spirit which graciously spring to life within us – we first consider that most central of Christian virtues: Love. Who are we becoming? People who love God and others.

BELIEVE: Worship

This week, we begin to consider key practices of the Christian faith, and the potential they hold (by the grace of God) to shape us into people who reflect God’s character. Today, Bill Schwarz shares how ‘Worship’ is one such potent practice.
