*IMPORTANT NOTICE* – In light of the recent changes that have been imposed on our lives by COVID – 19, our Youth Group has suspended its regular activities. In lieu of our weekly gatherings (Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings) Jonathan will be posting a series of lessons (see below) accompanied by videos posted to our Youth Group YouTube Channel.
If you have questions about these changes, or anything else related to our Youth Group, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The Way of the Cross (Youth Group lesson series):
Beyond the above lesson series, the following is a list of prayers (growing out of our present experience grappling with loss, and having our patience tested). These can be prayed alone, or together in a group. May they help to express the complex emotions we are all feeling at this time.
Finally, if you are looking for something else to occupy your time, various members of our group have been creating colouring sheets to nurture our sense of hopefulness through these days (see below). Please, colour freely!
If you are in grades 7 to 12, we invite you to join our Youth Group!
Between the months of September and June, we meet in the Youth Room every Thursday evening (from 7 to 8:45 pm) and Sunday morning (during the sermon time). Our gatherings are always a time of fun, friendship (usually also food!) and growing in our faith (wow, alliteration!) Further, we gather to:
We GROW as whole and healthy people, and in our awareness of God’s presence in our lives and in the world. We grow in our understanding of who God is, and of who we are as God’s people.
We LOVE because God first loved us. God has loved us by creating us ‘fearfully and wonderfully’, and by making us alive in Christ. As we grow in him, we learn to love God, and to love all that God loves.
We PARTICIPATE in the life and mission of God. God is making all things new! We participate in this good work by allowing God’s Word and Spirit to renew our lives, and by taking our place in the story – loving others, inviting them to come join in the party!
If you have ever wondered what this Christian life is about, and if you would like to make friends and have fun (and snacks!) with other people your age, please join us in the Glen Elm Youth Group!
